John Holmok (drums) is a founding member and the current manager of Mama D & The Vexations, having played with the band since its inception.
John started playing percussion in the school band in 4th grade and quickly took to the instrument. He continued playing with various school bands and in high school, founded and played in both a percussion ensemble and rock band with friends. He went on to study classical percussion with Bill Trigg at The College of NJ, graduating with a degree in Music Education in 2008. Since then, John has been an active percussionist and music educator working as both a public school music educator and private drum instructor. It was as colleagues at local music studio that John and Donna first played music together and explored starting a new cover band.
When not performing with Mama D, John works as the Manager of Customer Operations at the technology startup STOPit Solutions, located in the Bell Works complex in Holmdel, NJ. He lives in South Orange, NJ with his fiancee Dana; they enjoy cooking interesting food and traveling to new places. John and Dana are set to be married in Hoboken next weekend!
